Nunki: A Legacy Woven with Love and Luxury

Established in 2002 as Shawlart, our journey began with a deep-rooted passion for crafting artistic scarves, stoles, and shawls. Over the past two decades, we have dedicated ourselves to perfecting these timeless accessories, marrying heritage with creativity.

In 2019, driven by a desire to broaden our offerings and inspired by a love for travel and design, we evolved into Nunki—a name inspired by a star. Nunki symbolizes a shining moment, a radiant memory, and a spark of joy. With this transformation, we expanded into home accessories that echo nature's serenity and elegance. Using pure, luxurious fabrics like linen, cotton, and wool, our pieces blend sustainable craftsmanship with sophisticated design.

Our story, however, began generations ago. With a family legacy in textiles spanning over four generations, our great-grandfather started by de-hairing cashmere and selling it, setting the foundation for what would become a thriving family enterprise. This legacy transitioned into a small shop selling woollen blankets and shawls. Over time, our grandfather and father modernized the wool trade, incorporating mechanized processes in wool combing, spinning, and weaving.

Assisting my father through the evolving textile journey since the 1990s, I felt an innate pull to return to our roots. In 2002, I founded Shawlart, becoming one of the pioneers in Mumbai to present shawls as a fashion accessory. What began as a tribute to tradition soon flourished into a design-driven venture fueled by inherited passion and creative expression.

With two decades of growth behind us, Nunki emerged as a culmination of dreams and experiences. Inspired by my love for travel and shopping, I envisioned a space where one could find unique, high-quality products at accessible prices.
